Work In Progress Wednesday

Image
So I decided to jump on the Work in Progress bandwagon! (Actually I'm not sure who really does it except for on person I follow on instagram, but I like the ring to it, so I wanted to join in on the fun) So here's what I've got working on: To get the kids in the holiday spirit we are working on some salt dough ornaments! Alf is trying to help me this month's crochet project I've started on my cork project.  (It'll probably take me a year to finish. So be prepared for a lot of updates on it!) I'm starting to paint names on all the stockings And finally I'm working on a play tree for the boys. (So they leave the the real tree alone!)   Which Blue has stolen as a blanket!

Sunday Sneak Peak

I'm not going to lie. This week has been an emotional roller coaster. From paying my salutes to Susan B. Anthony and the rest of the suffragettes to finding out that 60 million cracks in the glass ceiling weren't enough, was a little hard to handle. (Well that I decided to listen to episode 20 of sword and scale on election day.) And no I'm not here to write more liberal "whining". So instead I thought I would give a brief sneak peak of things I have I did. (Because I find when things happen out of my control, I tend to stop trying to think about and get to work on things I can. Avoidance. Not the most mature ...

Hurricane Matthew Free Write and Sneak Peak

Image
Well, I wasn't really planning on posting anything today, but after being stuck inside for about a day and a half waiting for Hurricane Matthew to get to us and pass by us, I decided it might be nice to have a free write about what its like being on the outer edge of a hurricane. So before I begin I want to say that I was very fortunate that this storm didn't decide to go across Florida, but other countries were not that lucky. So if you want to donate to a relief fund, but you don't know where to start  Bustle  has a list of six organizations for you to chose from. (Although the best way to donate is to put your money into their economy or pay their workers to rebuild their homes instead of sending missionaries over to do it for them.) All right I'll get off my high horse... for now... and I just want to state one more thing. I grew up in Florida. So reading hurricane tracking maps are like second nature to me. I feel like the  National Hurricame Center  tracking...
