Monday Free Write

Yes I know I missed last week, but the Patriots played last week. And well I meant to write it on Sunday but I decided to sleep instead.  Perhaps that's the problem I'm having with this blog. Everything else seems to be more important than this. So here we are a month into my blog and I think I've finally diagnosed the main problem. So now maybe from here on out I'll give up my working on projects on Wednesday nights and start posting some posts about them. (And quite frankly the holiday season is brimming with projects, so in theory there should be plenty for me to write about) That could work  and then maybe I might actually slowly start having a following. Well it definitely could work. All right now for a recap in my projects, I've got the base of my felt Christmas tree made and I've slowly began to cover it in green felt leaves. I just need to get a little more stuffing so I can close the hole in the top and some more green felt to make more leaves to c

Monday Free Write

Well this certainly has been an interesting end to a very productive week (in real life, unfortunately, and not on the blog). I know its been three days since the attack on Paris and I'm sure everybody is sick of hearing about it. And I've taken the past three days to escape into my projects and into football. Because when I allow myself to think about how those people in Paris were just living their lives and got murdered in the worst way possible, it makes me frightened about the world I'm eventually going to have to send my kids out into.  And as a mother, I just want to tell my babies that I'll always be there to protect them, but really there's nothing I can do to stop them from being in the wrong place at the wrong  time. Anyway back to the fun stuff. I'm almost done with the second short side of the crib bumper. I just have to finish sewing on the A and then do a C and I'll be done with the project for about a month. In the meantime I'm goin

Another week down, and at least progress has been made. I did it! I finally did it! Just a quick post about my next project I'll be working on once I finally finish the crib bumper I have decided though that once I finish this side of the bumper, I'm going to put it on hold so I can get rid of a couple of quick projects off my to do list. I've found a project for a foam arm holder for the car seat because as Lyon quickly approaches his fourth month and four month check up, he's only getting heavier and the car seat doesn't help much. The second is a felt Christmas tree from Joann Fabrics. Which I think is brilliant in a household with two small children. Especially with Blu who will be 2 and a half this Christmas and still can't be trusted around a real tree or with real ornaments. And I just think it will be a nice project to kick off the holiday season. And once I do that I'll probably work on a couple more holiday projects before returning to the cr

Boys Room

One of my many projects is working on making the nursery/boys room. This is what it currently looks like: As you can see it's tight quarters in there. But all they really need it for is to sleep, so I'm really not too concerned about it. And well Blu's side is decorated with paintings I made for him and spare pieces from the bedding set to tie the room together. So for Lyon's half I have plans to make wall art for him similar to this idea: Except that I want to include the lion (from http://www.urbanthreads.com/products.aspx?productid=UTH7829), hurricane flags, and a quote to inspire him. I just haven't been able to find a quote that I like. So for now that project is in limbo

Another Monday comes and still not content in the blog. Which is probably why there aren't any followers. My main problem is that I know this damn crib bumper is going to take forever, so I'm putting all my time into it instead of finishing up posts for this blog. Beyond that I'm also having trouble breaking away from my boyfriend to have time to blog. He feels all he does is watch the kids, so when I'm awake and at home its my turn to watch them. Its certainly a real frustrating thing, when all I'm asking for is an hour every other day. Not all day. I think maybe if I expressed it that way he might consider it. Doubtful, but still just maybe it might work. And then maybe I can get this blog truly up and running besides Monday posts trying to explain why I still don't have anything finished for it yet. So say a little prayer that I can find time to get something posted this week!
