All right here we are with the second part to my gingerbread adventure. This time I'm talking all about gingerbread cookies! All right I'll confess, I wasn't orginially going to make gingerbread cookies. I found the recipe for gingerbread spice and gingerbread pancakes, so I thought that would be enough. Then I thought again and realized gingerbread cookies are the most important gingerbread things to make. (Other than houses, I guess, but I'll save that for next year!). All right remember back in Part 1, where I was talking about how great it was working in a restaurant because I can often take home spices when I need them. (I'm not going to lie that is pretty nice) Well, as I was asking one of our chefs for the spices he misunderstood that I just wanted to make pumpkin pie spice and not that I was making pumpkin pies. At first I just laughed it off. Because really, I hadn't even thought about making pies. It just seemed like something I wasn't ready for. But the more I researched it and the more I thought about it. The more I realized that I could handle it. The only trick was to find the right pumpkins. I have such a fun time making the baby cereal pancakes, that I decided to see what other food items I could make with excess baby food and cereal we still have. And I was shocked to learn that just about anything you bake you can substitute baby cereal in there some way or another. (Heidi Stock has a bunch of ideas here ). Along my searches, I stumbled upon a couple different recipes for baby cereal muffins. And I love muffins so much that I knew I had to try them out (and hopefully my boys would like them as much as they did the pancakes). Updated 6/16/16: I know I just posted this about a week ago, but I wasn't really satsified with how it turned out. So I decided to redo it and try to make it how I wanted it to be in the first place. For my very first edition of Try Me Tuesday (even though this is late on a Thursday), I thought I would stick close to home and try to replicate teething biscuits. Lion is in the fun stage of learning how to feed himself and getting teeth. I find teething biscuits are great for both. And Blue for some reason really enjoys eating them too. Normally I buy my boys  Baby Mum-Mum Teething Biscuits . They're really great. They're free of most allergen producing foods, dye free and I believe they are all non-gmo. (You can also find them in organic as well). They come two to a package. So it makes it easy to share between my two boys (or enough for a snack for Blue). I really have no complaints about them.
