Using Plastic Lids While Freezing Jars

So while I was cooking my pumpkins, I froze my second batch of pumpkin puree. And luckily around this time I was able to save the lid off the peanut butter jar. So I decided to put this hack to the test.

After a few twists I was able to get the peanut butter lid firmly on my mason jar.

And once I was ready to use it, the lid came off fairly easily (after I defrosted the jar a little) and there was (obviously) no sign of rust
